Oxygen barrier additives are used to enhance the plastic packaging barrier primarily in and beverage containers helping to counter permeability and increase package resistance to gas intrusion, represented by oxygen, vapor, gases, CO2, and aromas.
The use of Oxygen barrier additives provides long-acting oxygen scavenging and a superior gas barrier.
Controlling gas diffusion by providing a molecule movement barrier has become a standard requirement of the food packaging industry. There are several ways to achieve this, such as through oxygen permeability, including coating, metallization and coex barrier, or by producing coex barrier films.
TOSAF OXYGEN BARRIER ADDITIVES
Not all film producers have the in-house expertise required to achieve this. But, our powerful oxygen barriers are capable of providing an OTR of 20 cc/m2-day at a thickness of 10 microns and can be recycled into your own layer.
An additive with the effect of an oxygen barrier can be added to products that are sensitive to the effects of oxygen in order to counter permeability. This will extend the shelf life of the product.
In over 30 years of working side by side with our customers, Tosaf has developed an innovative range of Oxygen barrier additives that help reduce the harmful effects of gas intrusion.
Sharing with you our know-how and years of experience, we will advise on which Oxygen barrier additives to use, how to use them and in what quantities, to optimize them for both your production process and end-user applications.
